Tire Balancing And Rotations

Ensuring your tires are properly balanced will help keep you riding smoothly and will also ensure you get the most life out of your tires.

It’s normal for your tires to naturally wear over time. As your tires wear, they lose material that was once previously balanced to the entire wheel and tire assembly. Sometimes the wheel moves causing the tire to come out of balance. This is especially common for people who drive more aggressively or spiritedly. Symptoms include:

  • Shaking in the steering wheel
  • Abnormal tire wear
  • Vibrations in the floorboard or in your seat
  • Hopping under acceleration or braking
  • Premature wear on other components of the vehicle

Tire rotations and balancing are often performed at the same time, but in fact, they are different services. Balancing a tire requires the tires to go on a computerized measuring machine that determines where weight needs to be added. Tire rotations simply move the tires to different corners of the vehicle in order to increase the life and wear of the tires. Tire rotations are recommended every 5,000 miles and balancing at least annually.

Wheel Repair and Replacements

Daily driving can pose risks for hazards on the road. Whether a manhole cover, a pothole, or even a speed bump, anything can happen during the course of normal driving that could compromise your wheels. We have partnerships with local vendors to help repair or verify a wheel is not repairable before a replacement may be required. Your wheels may need to be repaired if you notice any of the following:
